Yes, I'm still alive♥

Hey Everyone!
I promise that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth! I knew I would be horrible at keeping up with this...I am so sorry! I figured that it was finally time for em to put some pictures on here! So, I have included some pictures of my dorm room and of my new, brown hair :)

This is my closet (on the right) and our "front door"

our pantry and media area :)

Our bulletin boards and Corri Anne's desk

View from our door. That's the edge of my bed there on the left

Tada!!

What do you think??

I actually really like it :)

Classes have been going really good. I have a paper do for English on Wednesday. We're studying "Classical Arguments" so I'm writing a paper on "Why Parents Should Home School their Children". It should be interesting. I really like my topic and it's something I'm passionate about, I just hate to write. Oh well!

I started a job...finally! I am really excited about it. It's in the Admissions Office here on campus. I'm working under one of the new admissions counselors as a Student Recruiter. I have the San Antonio area, so I call applicants and prospective students and do my best to get them to come to ACU :) The team is great and I'm having a blast!

On another note, I'm still sick :(
I went to the Dr. on Wednesday and he said that I have bronchitis. He had me tested for mono and strep though, and that was no fun. So he gave me 2 shots in my hip and that was painful. But hopefully I'll get over this nasty illness!

On an EXCITING note, I'm coming home this weekend!! YAY!! I am SOOOOOOO excited!!! This next weekend is the first Bible Bowl meet of the year and so I'm coming home to help out. Woot! Woot!

Well, I really should go.
Thanks for reading my blog!

WOW!

I am so sorry that it's been awhile since I've written. School has been really busy the last 2 weeks!

All of my classes are going really good. Here are the classes I'm taking:

MWF:
Bible (Mike Cope) 10am
English (Erin Voss) 1pm

TTH:
U-100 (George Pendergrass) 8:30am
Psychology (Dr. Richard Beck Jr) 9:30 am
Communication (Dena Counts) 1:30pm

I LOVE my U-100, but I think that Psychology is my favorite. Dr. Beck just has such an amazing way of making everything coming alive! He is an EXCELLENT communicator in his field and I am SO glad to have him as one of my professors!!

I had my first quiz in Bible yesterday and it was really easy, so I'm feeling a little more confident about the class. I guess I'm not really worried about any of my classes, but it was more the fear of the unknown since I had been homeschooled my whole life. But the adjustment wasn't near as hard as I thought it would be.

I had my first visit to the doctor yesterday and that wasn't any fun. I have an upper respitory infection, slight tonsilitus, and something else! Yuck! The doctor gave me a shot in my hip (which hurt like the dickins!) and gave me a perscription that I have to take for the next 10 days. He told me to stay inside as much as I can, drink LOTS of water, and have a little chicken soup :) So, after my appt. yesterday, I stayed in my room for the rest of the day which was kind of annoying, but VERY relaxing.

Now, some of you guys may have heard about this incident already, but I just wanted to share it with you guys real quick so you can be praying for the school. Our Student Body President, D.P.W. (who is African American), walked into his office Wednesday afternoon, and found a noose sitting on his chair. He was shaken and called someone to come look at it. The school has opened an investigation to find out who is responsible. They announced all of this to the student body during chapel yesterday and there was local and national news present. Please just pray that the Lord would give peace to D.P. and that no hate crimes or anythintg of that nature will happen in the future. I think that the school has handled this all very well and I have been extremely impressed with them!

Okay, well, I must go now!
I hope you all have a great weekend!

Exhausted already :(

WOW!
I guess for some reason I didn't realize how PACKED Welcome Week would be. I have been on the go since I got here. It's crazzzy!! haha!

Since arriving here I realize how "sheltered" (in a good way) I have been growing up. I'm just so used to being around people that have the same values as I do, and if they don't, they know not to say anything innapropriate aound me. Here, I've heard people make crude jokes, slight sexual jokes, and cuss. I know this is the "real world" and everything, but I'm at a CHRISTIAN University, and I guess that I just thought that my fellow classmates would live up to that standard. Just a little culture shock :)

I am LOVING my dorm! I'm staying in Gardner and I have an amazing roomie and a great hall! Corri Anne and my room has been deemed the "party room" in our hall because we have Guitar Hero and DDR and I brought over 100 movies :) It's been a lot of fun!

Today we have Moody Morning and then we're going to do a service project.

Well, I need to go, but I will write more soon...

I love you guys :)

I'm here!!!

Wow! I can't believe that I'm all moved and settled into my dorm and that my parents are leaving today. The weekend sure has gone by fast.

We got to Abilene about 1:45 Saturday afternoon and we stopped and ate lunch at Sharky's. I think that Sharky's is supposed to be a spin off of Chipotle, but it doesn't even come close. After we ate one of my really good friends from Bible Bowl, who goes to Hardin Simmons, Neal, came over and helped me unpack. Once we got everything in my dorm, Mom and grave unpacked some while Dad came with me to pick up my iPod touch...which is UH-MAZING!! We spent the rest of the day pretty much settling in and getting everyone situated.

Sunday morning we visited Beltway Park. I LOVE that church! Mom had been to it before but Dad hadn't, so I really wanted Dad to come and visit. I said that he LOVED it, so I was happy :)

They Hayes' came in town Sunday afternoon, so we helped Benjamin get moved into his dorm and then we all went to Chili's for dinner.

Yesterday was FULL of orientation. It wouldn't have been as bad if they weren't so boring! Haha! And often times, if the had multiple speakers, they would tend to say basically the same stuff which was kind of annoying.

There is one other thing.......

I HAVE THE MOST AMAZING U100 EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am SOOOOO excited about it! My professor id George Pendergrass (yes, he used to sing with Acapella) and he is SO cool :) There are 8 other kids in my class so it's nice and small :) I am so excited to see how our class grows this fall.

Well, I have to run becuase I have a meeting with my academic advisor.

I love you all and thanks for reading my blog :)

New Chapter...

As I sit here on my computer it is almost 4am. I woke up at 3:30am and I have just not been able to go back to sleep :/ I guess that my min is just racing with everything I need to do this morning before I leave at 10am. I am so scared that I'm going to leave something...

My siblings are so sweet. They (Eliot, Evan, and Grace) decided to take me out to breakfast this morning, which will be so much fun! So all of us kids are going to go to I.H.O.P. to eat before I head out this morning which will be really nice.

Yesterday afternoon Eliot, Evan, Grace and I went over to the Hayes' house to play Settlers of Catan (Cities and Knights) and then we watched Two Towers. It was a lot of fun!

Oh, I also guess I should probably clarify something for some of you guys! I have started courting!!! Benjamin H. and I have been courting for almost 1 month (on Sunday). I have known Benjamin ever since we started Bible Bowl and our friendship has grown a lot over the past couple of years and so we were really great friends before we started our courtship which was really nice. Benjamin is also coming to ACU and he is majoring in Business Management with an emphasis in Pre-Law. I am so glad that he'll be at ACU with me to help me with all the new and exciting changes going on :) I'll try and post a picture of us later.........

On a random note :)
How about Michael Phelps?????? That dude is AMAZING! haha! It doesn't seem like he can EVER lose! I mean, his swim last night was unbelievable!! I have never watched the Olympics as much as I have this year. Although I've mainly just watched Swimming and Gymnastcs. GO USA!!!!

Well, I should probably try and go back to sleep :)
I'll post again how my move-in went.

In Christ...

Only 4 more days until I leave for school! WOW! It's so hard to believe that I'm about to start college.

Please keep in contact with me either by leaving a comment here on blogspot, or by emailing me: cbs07c@acu.edu

I'll try and write another post here in the next couple of days!!
